Fine Gael Dublin North East Deputy, Terence Flanagan, has welcomed the decision by RTÉ to live stream the Michael Collins Commemoration this Sunday, 19th August from 3pm.

“I was delighted to learn that RTÉ will be live streaming the Béal na mBláth commemoration this weekend which will facilitate those who are unable to travel to Cork for the event.

“There has been tremendous interest in this ceremony so far and the prospect of not being able to fully engage in the event, which will see the sitting Taoiseach give the oration for the first time ever, has been the source of considerable frustration for many.

“I believe that a decision has been taken this evening for RTÉ to live stream proceedings on their website from 3pm at www.rte.ie/live, which will give everyone with an interest in the commemoration ceremony a chance to experience it for themselves.”
