Green Party Minister Eamon Ryan has been caught in the most obvious fib as his admission today (Wednesday) that he was aware of a Green Party plan on Cabinet rotation flatly contradicts his comments seven days ago according to Fine Gael Front Bench Spokesman, Simon Coveney TD.

“Last Wednesday March 3rd, Minister Ryan was at pains to make it clear that he was unaware of any rotation plan within the Green Party for the rotation of Cabinet seats. These comments were carried on pretty much every media outlet (see note at end).

“Today, Wednesday March 10th, Minister Ryan admitted that he was aware when he made those comments of such a secret rotation deal.

“Minister Ryan is not averse to taking the high moral ground whenever he chooses. However his conduct makes it clear that he prioritises providing ‘Jobs for the Greens’ at Cabinet and is willing to be, at best, economical with the truth to suit his own ends in Government”
